Preparing the Workstation:
First of all , we have to find our files,
Open DMO Packmanager
Locate the DMOP file and open it
Now you need to update the DMOP (you do that once every update)
Click on Package
Click Update , then wait till it finishes.
*NEW*Click on Package , then Import Archive , Then SaveThis step will allow you to export them and see them for later use.
Now you will see a list of files , you need to go now to Browse Content Tab.
Now you will see a group of files and folders
Choose the thing you want to edit.
Lets Start By Gatomon as an example
Expand the Digimon folder (by clicking the + or pressing the Right arrow)
locate gatomon , because the game is based on KDMO , the names arent what they are in game , so Gatomon is called Tailmon.
Right Click Tailmon's Folder , and Click Export. Then save it where ever you wish.
Now you have exported the file succesfully
Editing The Textures:
Close The Pack Manger , if it asks to save , click yes (after and update).
Open the Tailmon Folder You Just Exported.
Find the one that ends with .nif and open it with NiftSkope
Now you will see 3 things , The left bar with text , the right bar with the 3D digimon , and the below bar with more text.
Now you need find the texture file.
On the left bar , you must keep expanding until you find the texture , marked by a purple gear. It is mostly under NiTriShape>NiTextureProperty>NiSourceTexture , if it is not , keep searching. EDIT:I've just found an easier way to do this , Click on View>Block List>View as List , it will show them as a list and you can easily see the purple gears.
Note that they may be more than 1 Texture for a digimon , such as Shine Greymon Burst Mode , has texture for the skin and for the flames. And there are some duplicates too , so if you export one , the other duplicates will be exported too! (The will all have the same number before them example paildramon.tga)
Now RightClick the text near the purple gear and choose Texture>Export, then save it whatever you wish , but it must be in the same folder as the .nif and it must end with .tga (example: GatomonBlack.tga).
Now open a program that supports .tga such as Photoshop , Paint.net , Gimp....etc
Now edit the TGA as much as you want , everytime you save , the Niftskope will update the Digimon to what you've edited.
Once you're done editing , save the .tga file , and go back to niftskope and check what you have done.
If you like what you have done , on the top , click Save As , and overwrite the .nif (for gatomon overwrite tailmon.nif). Click Yes if asked.
Now you have edited the texture and saved it to look for it in the same folder!
Importing the textures to the game
Now you must have the .nif file and the .tga file , that we are going to put in the game. One more thing , you must go to (in niftskope) to Render>Settings and add the path of the game , via either AutoDetectGamePath or add the folder manually
Open DMO's Folder (Default is C:\Joymax\DMO\)
Create these Folders : Pack01\Data , these are the folders that you will ALWAYS put your edited files in.
Now inside that , you must create another folder for your edit , because we are editing Gatomon , we should create a digimon folder , if you are editing the effects , you must create an Effect folder , so basically , the folder name is what you are editing!
Now inside Digimon , create a folder with the digimon name , here we will call it Tailmon (The Folder must be the same as the one inside The Pack Manager).
Put the .tga and the .nif inside Tailmon's folder and go back to the launcher.
Now open the launcher.
The launcher will automatically detect the Pack01 folder , and it will put the contents inside the game , then it will delete the Pack01 Folder , so dont worry if it goes missing. Thats how game updates are applied.
Start the game and you should see the edited textures
If you would like to edit the sounds , just add the sounds to the folder DMO\Data\StaticSound\ locate your digimon and replace the files you wish to edit!
To edit the animations, all you have to do is replace the .kf files with other .kf files (.kf files are animation files such as run , die , evolve , skill ...etc) [ADVANCED USERS ONLY].
Known Issues and FAQs:
If you have any problems or if you dont see your texture , make sure the files names are correct , and you have created Pack01\Data.
If you have a white texture , that means the the .tga was not found , because you didnt put it in the required folder , or because you didnt Export it in the same folder as the .nif or the file names aren't correct.
Q.Will I get banned for this?
A.No you wont.
Q.Can anyone else see these skins?
A.No , unless they have the same .tga and .nif as you.
Q.Can I return back to the normal skins? How?
A.Yes , You must've kept a backup file before importing.
Q.Can I edit the 3D models?
A.If you have an application to do that , yes , but currently in Niftskope, all you can do is move items and delete items.
Leave any comment and I will try to help you. If you still dont understand , Here's a thread were you post what you want and I'll try to do them for you!
